Modern Methods

Legacy Wellness takes a fresh, contemporary approach to its practice by blending nontraditional methods with traditional diagnostic techniques.

types of sessions

Individual Therapy

The goals of individual therapy are to address barriers to living the life you want and creating solutions. We will identify the barriers, create goals and strategies, and then implement the plan together. We will work to elevate the way you think about yourself, the way you treat yourself, and how you connect with the people in your life and the rest of the world.

GROUP Therapy

Group therapy is one of many helpful treatment options that we may recommend. Group therapy targets your mental health problems by providing you with a safe, structured environment where you can communicate with and learn from people who have shared experiences, similar issues, and concerns about their own mental health.

Covid-19 issues

Are you having problems coping with job loss, stress, trauma, grief, bereavement, depression, and anxiety surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic? Contact us today. We're here to help you be present in these unusual times.

Anxiety includes feelings of worry, stress, or fear that are strong enough to interfere with one's daily activities. Some symptoms of anxiety include shortness of breath, panic, increased heartrate, sleep problems, difficulties concentrating and avoidance behaviors. Let's work together to decrease these symptoms and improve your quality of life.

Depression is a common condition, affecting 1 in 4 people. Depression can manifest in different ways across individuals. Symptoms include changes in sleep patterns, isolation, tearful or crying spells, weight gain or weight loss, and loss of interest in activities. It could also feel like a personal fog that dims thinking or darkens your perspective. Contact us today to begin working towards decreasing depressive symptoms and increasing your feelings of happiness.

Traumatic experiences often involve a threat to life and safety but any situation that leaves you feeling overwhelmed and isolated can lead to trauma, even if it doesn't involve physical harm. Trauma can leave you feeling numb and disconnected, unable to trust other people, and struggling with upsetting emotions and memories that won't go away. Let's create a plan to process these things together.

Grief & Loss

After losing a loved one, you may feel lost. This can be a time of crisis or unexpected change. You may also feel overwhelmed, confused and alone. It's also normal to experience changes in your relationships, habits and routines. Therapy can help with healing from grief as well as healing yourself after a loved one passes. Whether in the first stages of bereavement or having suffered the loss of someone for many years, we are here for you.

At times we may need help navigating and breaking free from personal matters such as low self-esteem, body image issues, and stressors related to sexuality, culture shock, social phobia, and past or present abuse. We are holding space for you.

Major Life Events

Divorce, break-ups, financial crises, serious health issues, mid-life crises, aging concerns, marriage, empty nest, and job transitions affect each of us in different ways. Individualized treatment plans are crafted to help you navigate these major life events.

Family and Relationships

Each family is unique and there is no "one size fits all" tactic or book. Family-focused therapy helps individuals navigate relationships, marriages, blended family issues, parenting/co-parenting, and behavior in children.

Veterans' Services

Those who dedicate their lives to our freedom, deserve to have mental health care that is dedicated to them. Legacy Wellness Services is honored to provide veterans' with specialized care focused on transitions from military to civilian life and marital/family concerns.

common questions

The first step in therapy is recognizing the need or desire for therapeutic intervention, so by being here you’ve already taken a big step in the right direction!

The second step is to book a free consultation to see if a therapist is the right fit for you.

If it’s a good match, your new therapist will develop a treatment plan and coordinate with you to schedule sessions to begin your wellness journey.

Choosing the right therapist is like choosing a good lawyer, doctor, or friend – you may need to do some searching to find the right one for you but a good one will  be honest, will operate with your best interests at heart, and will graciously hold you accountable.

Prepare a list of important qualities you prefer of your therapist (ex. male, female, non-binary, etc.), a list of important questions (ex. are you LGBTQ friendly), and utilize the free consultations therapists offer to aide your search.

Typical sessions are 50 minutes each.

Extended sessions of 1.5 or 2 hours are available as a specialized treatment plan upon request, if a therapeutic need is present.

Typical treatment plans are based on a weekly schedule.

Specialized treatment plans can have a biweekly, bimonthly, or monthly schedule depending on therapeutic need. Speak with your therapist about what is right for you.

Licensed mental health providers are bound by ethics and laws to keep the details of therapy sessions confidential.

However, there are 4 situations therapists are required to report intent or actions to the proper agencies:

  • You are an imminent danger to yourself
  • You are an imminent danger to another person
  • Child abuse
  • Elder abuse

Legacy Wellness Services is committed to providing a safe and  confidential space for your mental health concerns.
